Last week, our partners Çağrı Akyol, Jingsi Zhang and Erik Meers, from the University of Ghent (UGENT) were at the ESNI Conference 2024, celebrated during the 18th and 19th of September.  The Biorefine Cluster Europe organizes this event that has taken place at Les Ateliers des Tanneurs, in Brussels.

Our partners took the opportunity to present a poster called “Nutrient availability and greenhouse gas emissions from bio-based fertilizers under controlled conditions”.

Growing the future of nutrient recovery and nutrient recycling
The European Sustainable Nutrient Initiative brought together leading experts in the field of nutrient cycling to foster collaboration among European entities engaged in nutrient recycling, facilitating the exchange of valuable experiences and identifying knowledge gaps to guide future research.

About the BioRefine Cluster
The Biorefine Cluster Europe interconnects projects and people within the domain of biobased resource recovery, striving to contribute to a more sustainable resource management. The competence focus lies within the biorefinery sector: the refinement of chemicals, materials, energy and products from bio-based waste streams. It can be subdivided in three categories: 1. Biobased (waste)streams as input for the circular economy 2. Bioprocesses 3. Sustainable bio-energy production in its various shapes and forms 4. Resource Recovery: extracting minerals, chemicals, water and materials from biomass.
